Inter Miami has officially qualified for the expanded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, becoming the first Major League Soccer (MLS) side to participate in the tournament under its new 32-team format. The qualification marks a historic achievement for the club — and for Lionel Messi’s legacy in American soccer.
Miami secured their spot after winning the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup and finishing top of the MLS Eastern Conference. The tournament will take place in the United States, giving Messi a chance to lead a home-soil run in what may be his final international club competition.
“This is a dream come true for us and our fans,” said Inter Miami manager Tata Martino. “Messi continues to elevate our standards, and now we’ll test ourselves against the world’s best.”
